Information on the Workers Compensation process can be obtained from the Workplace Risk Management Unit.

Rehabilitation/ Return to Work

The process of rehabilitation/return to work in the workplace at the University of New England is available in two instances. For those employees returning from work-related Injury/Illness/Incident the Return to Work Program, consistent with the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998 will apply.

Those employees returning from extended sick leave can access the support of the Return to Work (non-Workers Compensation) Program. Both of these documents can be accessed at http://www.une.edu.au/rmu/Rehab.htm

The Injury Management Coordinator will ensure that the employee receives appropriate and timely rehabilitation/return to work assistance. A case file will be maintained and confidentiality will be protected.

Employees will be informed of their rights and responsibilities and of the University's policies on injury management and the return to work program when a rehabilitation/return to work case commences.
