Australian Competitive Grants Register (ACGR)
All schemes listed on the Australian Competitive Grants Register (ACGR) are exempt from the UNE 20% management fee. Please check that the scheme, not just the funding body, you are applying to are listed on the ACGR to ensure your project is accurately budgeted for.
The schemes are listed below the funding body on the register (see below for example) and all schemes listed on the ACGR attract the same government funding no matter who the funding body is.

Scheme example: Dept of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is listed on the ACGR but the only scheme included is the 'Carbon Farming Future - Filling the Research Gap'. All other DAFF schemes would incur the management fee.
About the ACGR
The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research's (DIISR) Research Block Grant Scheme (RBG) allocates grants to universities on the basis of an index which measures institutional success in obtaining competitively awarded research funding, such as those listed on the Australian Competative Grants Register (ACGR).
In 2012, $1.63 billion is being provided to eligible Australian higher education providers as block grants for research and research training, through a number of performance-based schemes. RBG's are allocated according to performance based formula and are independent of funding for specific research projects, programs, or fellowships.
