Thesis Submission Instructions
Instructions for Submission of a Higher Degree Research Thesis
As from 28th September, 2011 all Higher Degree Research students are required to submit their thesis electronically in pdf format, which can be e-mailed to hdrexam@une.edu.au. Students undertaking a Research Master degree must provide two soft-bound copies and students undertaking the higher degrees must provide three soft-bound copies to Research Services.
Please note that for your thesis to be accepted Research Services must receive, prior to submission of your thesis, the following form signed by your Principal Supervisor and Head of School:
Your School must provide Research Services with the completed Examiners Recommendation Form prior to your submission or your thesis examination will be delayed. Please remind your supervisor of this requirement prior to your submission.
All students must ensure that:
When submitting the electronic copy of the thesis please submit in Adobe format and preferably as one document. If the thesis is in more than one document each document must not be larger than 30 megabites. Please make sure that the dpi for any colour photos or graphics is no higher than 300.
When submitting your thesis please ensure that the following forms have been completed, which can be submitted electronically hdrexam@une.edu.au or in hard copy to Research Services.

Electronic Signature
Students need to provide an electronic signature for the “candidate’s certification” page – please see page 48 of the “Quality in Research Higher Degrees: A Handbook for Higher Degree Research Students and Supervisors”.
If you are unable to provide an electronic signature for that page, it is suggested that you print that page off, sign it and send the hard copy of that page to Research Services and we will then arrange to scan the page and will insert into the electronic thesis that you provide us.
