Professor/Associate Professor in Animal Nutrition

The School of Environmental and Rural Science is a leader in research and teaching of animal nutrition in Australia and is seeking to appoint a senior academic staff member to this discipline area. This person must be appropriately qualified, with a proven record in animal nutrition research and leadership of a research group, and have an excellent publication record. Applicants must have strategic planning skills and a proven record of significant grant attraction.

This position would ideally suit a dynamic individual who would like the challenge of facilitating the growth of the animal nutrition discipline at UNE. The nutrition group presently includes a wide range of continuing and fixed-term staff and postgraduate students as well as collaborators from the Department of Industry and Investment NSW.    The School currently houses the headquarters of the Beef, Poultry and Sheep CRCs with significant interactions with each.

This is a five-year, full-time fixed-term position with the possibility of further appointment (or conversion to continuing appointment) subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.  Consideration may also be given to filling the position on less than a full-time basis.  The successful applicant will be supported to undertake research and to seek further funding opportunities to maintain a position within the School beyond the initial five-year appointment.
