Associate Lecturer in Academic Skills - Foundations

Within the Teaching and Learning Centre the Academic Skills Office brings together areas supporting teaching and learning at UNE (materials development and delivery, academic staff development and media production).

The appointee will contribute to the UNE Pathways Enabling Course and the teaching of foundation units; conduct individual consultations with students about their learning needs; and assist with the preparation and provision of group and individual programs which address students' general and course specific learning needs and tertiary literacy.

Applicants must have: tertiary qualifications related to education and/or TESOL and preferably possession of or progression towards a higher degree in a relevant discipline; and experience in preparing, delivering and evaluating learning skills programs for tertiary students.

This fixed-term appointment is available until 31 December 2010 with the possibility of further appointment, and/or conversion to a continuing appointment, subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Consideration may be given to filling the position on less than a full-time basis.
