The Discipline of Sociology and Criminology at UNE seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer to teach and conduct research in the area of criminology. The appointee will be a member of a small team implementing a new criminology program, will supervise fourth year and postgraduate students, and will engage in an active program of research related to criminology. The position will commence in January 2010.
Applicants must have a PhD in an area relevant to the UNE criminology program and an ability to attract research grants. An ability to teach on-line using a program like Blackboard and experience in curriculum development are desirable.
UNE is located in Armidale, which is situated in the New England region of New South Wales. Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is two hours from the coast, and is a unique university centre that offers all the facilities of a city.
