Lecturers in Chemistry (2 Positions)
School of Science and Technology
The School of Science and Technology encompasses a number of disciplines including Chemistry, Computer Science, Human Biology, Mathematics, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Pharmacy, Physics, Physiology and Statistics. The School, which conducts teaching and research through an exciting comprehensive range of undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate courses, is seeking to appoint two academic staff members to positions in Chemistry. These courses are offered both on campus and via distance education.
One position is in the area of Medicinal or Biological Chemistry and requires a candidate who has a proven track record in research and is able to teach into the Bachelor of Science Chemistry Major and chemistry components of the Bachelor of Pharmacy and other allied majors within the School.
The other position can be from any area of Chemistry however the candidate's research interests must align with the School of Science and Technology's research themes and an interest in Chemical Education would be desirable. The position will contribute to the coordination and teaching of first year and Foundation Chemistry units and other courses within their expertise. The ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic chemistry educator wishing to develop their research profile.
The successful applicants must have a relevant PhD qualification and will be expected to make a contribution to the ongoing development of the Chemistry program at all levels and pursue research-focused activities. They will be expected to supervise higher degree research students, have a record of research and publications and have the potential to attract external research funding. An ability to work in an interdisciplinary team is highly desirable.
