Lecturer in Physical Geography
School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences
Geography and Planning is a strong academic unit within the School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences that teaches a wide range of topics in physical and human geography as well as urban and regional planning to both on-campus and distance education students. It also has an excellent research profile.
We seek an effective team player who can contribute to the research and teaching of physical geography as well as complement and strengthen existing programs in the discipline. The appointee will teach into the physical geography stream in a range of degrees.
The University has excellent research facilities for field and laboratory based activities. All new staff receive a $5000 start up research grant from the School. The School also provides generous conference funding and other strategic research support for early career researchers.
This position would ideally suit someone who wishes to retain their career focus while also having the desire for a life-style change in beautiful Armidale, New England. Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is only two hours from the mid north coast and is a unique regional centre that offers all the facilities of a much larger city. Recognised as a centre for culture, Armidale is well served for art, music, theatre and public and private education.
