The position will provide strategic leadership and assistance to the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean and Heads of Schools in the Faculty to develop and align academic activities across and between the Faculties. The main roles of the position are: ● to support the achievement of the relevant outcomes specified in the University's Strategic Plan and other University plans; ● to contribute to the development of academic strategy and policy; and ● to report Faculty progress against relevant strategic goals and operational plans.
In carrying out these roles, the Academic Director will liaise closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean, the Heads of Schools in the Faculty, the Academic Director of the Faculty of The Professions, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic), the Chief Development Officer and staff of the Directorates, including the Teaching and Learning Centre, Student Administration and Services, UNE International and the Library.
The position is a fractional appointment at 80% and the remaining fraction of the appointment will be devoted to appropriate academic activities approved by the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean, consistent with the appointee's current substantive appointment. The appointee will revert to his/her substantive position, associated title and remuneration at the conclusion of the appointment provided the appointee is a current continuing staff member, or has a fixed term appointment which continues beyond the term of the role.
