Lecturer in Psychology and First Year Coordinator (Fixed-term)

The appointee to this position will coordinate the first year psychology sequence within the School. This will involve responsibility for developing and maintaining the Blackboard components for the two core units comprising the first year sequence, coordinating the teaching of staff members into the units, presenting some lectures in the units, creating and implementing the assessment for the units, and facilitating the study of students enrolled in the first year psychology sequence. The appointee will also supervise fourth year and postgraduate theses students and pursue a program of research in his or her specialty area.
Applicants must have a PhD in psychology, demonstrated commitment to teaching, and a demonstrated ability to conduct research. Experience in using Blackboard and experience in curriculum development are desirable.
Ideally the position will commence in January 2010 and continue until December 2012. There is the possibility of further appointment and/or conversion to a continuing position subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
