Lecturer in Behavioural Genetics/Evolutionary Psychology

The University of New England has an active behavioural genetics research program in psychology as well as world class programs of genetics research in other disciplines. This full-time continuing position, at the lecturer level, in the area of behavioural genetics and/or evolutionary psychology within the Psychology discipline will commence in early 2010. This position is similar to a tenure track Assistant Professor position in North America.
The position involves teaching at different levels of the psychology curriculum, providing supervision to research students, contributing to administration within the discipline and school, and maintaining a productive research program. Applicants must have a PhD, demonstrated commitment to teaching, ability to contribute to teaching in psychology, and a demonstrated potential to build a strong program of research. Expertise in methodologies and statistical analyses relevant to behavioural genetics is desirable.
UNE is located in Armidale, which is situated in the New England region of New South Wales. Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is two hours from the coast, and is a unique university centre that offers all the facilities of a city. Armidale is well served for art, music, theatre and education.
