Casual Nursing Clinical Laboratory Assistant

The School of Health is seeking expressions of interest for a Casual Clinical Laboratory Assistant to work within the School. This position will be on a part-time, casual basis for approximately 4 hours per day and will assist the Clinical Simulation Laboratory Manager during intensive teaching periods from 27 July to 15 August 2009. This person will assist the Laboratory Manager in setting up teaching spaces for clinical teaching and skills practice sessions using various medical/hospital equipment. Other duties may include photocopying documents, assisting in student movements in the laboratory, preparing equipment for student assessment and general cleaning of equipment.
The successful applicant will either have Enrolled Nurse or Assistant in Nursing qualifications along with knowledge of current nursing practice. Applicants must also have an understanding of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to work in this environment.
