The ‘DEHub: Innovation in Distance Learning' project, based within the Faculty of The Professions, will provide leadership in developing and implementing models for distance education across the Australian tertiary sector. It will engage in national and global collaborations on evidence-based approaches to new teaching technologies. The Faculty is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Communications and Funding Officer to work closely with the project team on this well-funded Diversity and Structural Adjustment Fund project. The position holder will be responsible for the successful sourcing of grants, tenders or other funding opportunities and the production and submission of associated applications; preparing reports for government and funding agencies; liaising with partner institutions and other stakeholders; and developing and implementing related marketing events, strategies, and initiatives. This is a three-year fixed term position, with the possibility of further appointment subject to funding and satisfactory performance. Applicants must have demonstrated specialist experience in the development and implementation of marketing projects and campaigns including proven track record and excellent proactive skills in identifying and executing marketing opportunities; demonstrated excellent research and information analysis and report writing skills; and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills including a demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate, and interact with staff, external organizations, and stakeholders. The Communications and Funding Officer will be based with the project team at the University of New England, Armidale. Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is only 2 hours from the mid north coast and is a unique regional city. Recognised as a centre for culture, Armidale is well served for art, music, theatre and education, both public and private.
