Executive Assistant to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic)

Office of the Vice-Chancellor

This position reports directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and is responsible for managing administrative support required by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic). The position will play a crucial role in supporting the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) in all aspects of the Office’s planning and operations. The Executive Assistant also works closely with the Executive Officer and other staff within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, as well as with senior management of the University, Faculties and academic staff, administrative departments, Government and non-Government agencies, and with individuals and organisations outside of the University.

The Executive Assistant will take a strategic approach, as appropriate to the position, act independently and exercise initiative, judgment and diplomacy, in the management of issues brought to the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic). The incumbent must inspire confidence in the University using excellent communication and public relations skills. Confidentiality is a critical component of this position.

Applicants must have substantial administrative experience; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; time management, planning and analytical skills; and the ability to exercise initiative and judgment in a diverse range of problem solving situations.

Salary: $47,113 to $54,327 per annum (HEO Level 5)
plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
