Executive Assistant to the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean

Faculty of The Professions

The Faculty of The Professions consists of the Schools of Education, Law, Health, Rural Medicine, and Business, Economics and Public Policy; employing approximately 175 academic staff and 54 general staff.

This position reports directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean (PVC and Dean), and works closely with the Faculty Office staff and liaises with the other Faculty and senior management of the University, with Government agencies and with individuals and organisations outside the University, both national and international.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing all levels of administrative support required directly by the PVC and Dean. The position will play a crucial role in assisting the PVC and Dean in all aspects of the Faculty’s planning and operations.

The Executive Assistant will take a strategic approach, as appropriate to the position, act independently and exercise initiative, judgement and diplomacy, in the management of all issues brought to the office of the PVC and Dean. Confidentiality is a critical component of this position.

Applicants must have: substantial administrative experience; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and the ability to exercise initiative and judgement in a diverse range of problem solving situations.

Salary: $46,189 to $53,262 per annum (HEO Level 5)
plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
