School of Business, Economics and Public Policy

The School of Business, Economics and Public Policy is a leader in research and teaching of Economics, Agriculture and Resource Economics, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance and Management. The School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Economics to commence 1 July 2008.

Applicants must have an ability to teach macroeconomics, microeconomics, Australian agricultural economics, Australian economic institutions and policy making and quantitative methods. Capacity to teach courses in both face-to-face large and small class settings and experience in teaching in distance education modes is also essential.

The appointee must possess a PhD or have already submitted their PhD thesis for examination and have demonstrated an ability to undertake research through the publication of scholarly papers in refereed journals, the gaining of research grants, and capacity to supervise research students.

This position would ideally suit someone who wishes to retain their career focus while also having the desire for a life-style change in beautiful Armidale, New England. Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is only 2 hours from the mid north coast and is a unique country town that offers all the facilities of a city. Recognised as a centre for culture, Armidale is well served for art, music, theatre and education, both public and private.

Salary: $65,963 to $78,178 per annum (Lecturer)
plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
