The position will support the implementation and ongoing development of the Joint Medical Program (JMP) between the University of New England and the University of Newcastle. The Bachelor of Medicine – JMP is underpinned by problem based learning (PBL). The successful applicant will liaise with staff, analyse their needs, provide advice on teaching and learning approaches and contribute to the analysis, design and development of the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP over the next 5 years. In addition the establishment of a Medical Education centre to underpin activities of the JMP will provide exciting research opportunities for evaluation and monitoring of the JMP and ensure ongoing best possible practice for training and development of medical practitioners. This position is being offered at either the level of C or D and is for a fixed-term period of five years. There is the possibility of further appointment subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. Applicants should indicate the level of position they are applying for and address the relevant selection criteria. The position will be located in Armidale although frequent travel to Newcastle and a range of clinical teaching sites will be required. Applicants must have a postgraduate degree in academic development/medical education/online learning or a related field; demonstrated ability to design, develop and deliver professional development programs and resources; and superior skills in using LMS and other instructional technologies, for example, blogs, wikis and media-casting; and high level experience in problem based learning (PBL).
