Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Mathematics Education (2 Positions)

School of Education

The School of Education wishes to make two (2) appointments at either Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer levels in Mathematics Education. These positions focus on primary schooling, with an opportunity for some work in the secondary school mathematics education units. The appointees will work in teaching, research, consultancy and professional service.

The School of Education has a strong profile in providing highly regarded pre-service and postgraduate teacher education, research and consultancy. The National Centre of Science, Information and Communication Technology, and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR) and the Centre for Research in English & Multiliteracies Education (CRÈME) are located in the School. The School provides a friendly collegial and supportive working environment.

At the Associate Professor level, the successful applicant will be expected to (i) take a leadership role in the School of Education; (ii) have a record of successful course design and teaching at tertiary level; (iii) take an active role in the development of external grant applications; (iv) take a leadership role in research supervision of higher degree students; and (v) have an established national and international profile in the mathematics education field.

At the Senior Lecturer level, the successful applicant will be expected to (i) take an active role in course design and development; (ii) supervise research higher degree students; (iii) lead and contribute to research projects; (iv) have a record of research and publications; and (v) have a capacity to attract external research funding.

At the Lecturer level, the successful applicant will be expected to (i) contribute to course design and unit development; (ii) have a record of successful teaching of mathematics at primary or secondary level; (iii) contribute to the supervision and coursework of postgraduate students; and (iv) demonstrate knowledge of key research, theories, policies and practices in mathematics education.

At all levels, the appointee must teach in both undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics curriculum units in face-to-face, distance and online modes.

Salary: $101,066 to $111,255 per annum (Associate Professor); or
$84,081 to $96,822 per annum (Senior Lecturer); or
$68,796 to $81,535 per annum (Lecturer)
plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
