The School of Education has a strong profile in providing highly regarded pre-service and postgraduate teacher education, research and consultancy. The National Centre of Science, Information and Communication Technology, and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR) and the Centre for Research in English and Multiliteracies Education (CREME) are located in the School. The School provides a friendly collegial and supportive working environment. This position, at either the Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level, has a focus on educational and developmental psychology, especially in their application to: primary classroom programming; assessment and reporting; active learning in primary classrooms; quality teaching; teacher standards and accreditation; and inclusive classroom practices. The appointee will work in teaching, research, consultancy and professional service. The successful applicant will augment the current Learning and Teaching Academic Team, enhancing its expanding role in conducting significant externally funded research projects, supervising higher degree research students and contributing to postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and teacher professional learning. At the Senior Lecturer level, the successful applicant will be expected to (i) take a leadership role in research supervision of higher degree students, (ii) take an active role in course design and development, (iii) lead research focussed activities, (iv) have a record of research and publications and (v) have a capacity to attract external research funding. At the Lecturer level, the successful applicant will be expected to participate in the above activities but at a more formative level. At either level the appointee must teach in both undergraduate and postgraduate Learning and Teaching units in face-to-face, distance and online modes.
