eAccess Officer (Part-time, Fixed-term)

INTERNAL TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY Applications are invited from current permanent and fixed-term staff members of the University (who have been appointed as a result of an advertised position or who have continuously occupied an unadvertised position for more than twelve (12) months at the closing date) for the following position. This position is located within the Electronic Services Development Department (ESDD) of the University Library. The ESDD is responsible for the development and management of the Library’s electronic services and infrastructure. The appointee will be responsible for developing the design framework of the Library webpages in conjunction with the eAccess Librarian, constructing pages on the basis of agreed design protocol and maintaining the Library website. The role also focuses upon maintaining the day to day operation of electronic resources and services to the UNE community. The incumbent will be required to work on a rostered basis during the full span of Library opening hours, including weekends. Applicants must be eligible for professional membership of ALIA, including possession of a recognised degree; or possess an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience. The successful applicant must have excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills; a demonstrated ability to design and build Web pages, as well as a demonstrated ability to develop problem-solving strategies and to successfully implement such strategies. This part-time (20 hours per week) and fixed term position is available until 24 December 2009 with the possibility of further appointment and/or conversion to continuing appointment subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
