A vacancy exists in the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) for an Administrative Assistant to support the activities of the Academic Skills Office (ASO), and the TLC generally. The successful applicant will provide high level administrative support to the Academic Skills team, the Executive Officer and the Director. Duties include advanced word-processing, answering enquiries from students and staff about student academic support matters, making all arrangements for workshops, maintaining databases and booking records, and assisting in data collection. Applicants must have advanced computer skills and high level competence with a range of relevant software packages, excellent administrative and organisational skills, high level interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work under limited supervision. This part-time position for 24 hours per week is available until 30 June 2009. There is the possibility of further appointment and/or conversion to a continuing appointment, with hours that would be varied to a minimum of 17 ½ hours per week to a maximum of 28 hours per week, subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
