Teaching and Learning Centre

The Teaching and Learning Centre supports the achievement of the vision and goals of the University of New England. Services provided by the Teaching and Learning Centre are directed at sustaining UNE’s position as a leader in distance education, developing flexible approaches to teaching and learning and enhancing teaching and learning across the University. The Centre works to promote a culture of excellence in teaching and learning through collaboration with University individuals and groups.

The Deputy Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the TLC, and in particular its role in supporting academic renewal throughout the University, under the overall strategic leadership of the Director. This is a full-time, continuing position at Academic Level D (Associate Professor).

Applicants must have a doctoral qualification; significant experience at a managerial level and demonstrated excellent management skills; high-level leadership skills and a demonstrated capacity to initiate and successfully implement strategic change; extensive experience in distance education/flexible learning; a high-level understanding of contemporary issues and policies in teaching and learning in higher education, and of the support needs of academic staff in a changing University environment.

This position would ideally suit someone who wishes to retain their career focus while also having the desire for a life-style change in beautiful Armidale, New England. Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is only 2 hours from the mid north coast and is a unique country town that offers all the facilities of a city. Salary: $101,066 to $111,255 per annum (Associate Professor) plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
