About Parramatta Campus
The FutureCampus project in Western Sydney has been progressing with site selection, concept design and development planning since November 2011.
The campus is an innovation learning hub and cornerstone of UNE’s online teaching vision and will provide a flexible and open learning environment and experience that:
- Seamlessly enables the balance of study, social, work and family needs of a student’s life
- Provides the most advanced relevant technology delivery platform that meets student aspirations for how they want to learn
- Opens access to learning to anyone, anywhere, anytime
- Facilitates interaction and collaboration with the best of the world’s teaching resources
so that UNE achieves international recognition in innovative learning and grows student numbers above (Australian domestic) market growth over each of the next 10 years.
FutureCampus will however provide a flagship ‘shopfront’ for UNE’s presence in Western Sydney around which learning, promotion and community engagement activities can take place.
FutureCampus will provide a venue to demonstrate innovation in delivery of course content, open access to facilitate local small group collaboration, access to telecommuting technology enabling participation in lectures, flexible 1:1 tutoring or course advice, course administration such as assignment submission and other student administrative services.
Project is targeted for public opening in April 2013.
This project is funded by the Australian Government through the Education Investment Fund as part of the Structural Adjustment Fund and the University of New England.
