Most people can write. We use the written word every day. It is one of the basic human skills. This is probably why most adults resist the need to re-assess how they write. We are happy to take the advice of doctors, lawyers and accountants, but when it comes to one of the basic human skills, even people who write for a living often take offence. So when you feel at some stage that someone is trying to tell you how to do your job, you won't be alone.
