Compulsory On-line Courses
There are five distinct courses that make up the Mandatory Online Courses required for UNE. UNE Code of Conduct, UNE Privacy Policy, EEO Online, OHS for UNE employees, and the National Code (ESOS – Education Services for Overseas Students) are the compliance courses for UNE staff. Existing staff that have not yet completed these should contact OD immediately to be enrolled in Moodle to have access to the compliance courses. For staff new to UNE, they will be advised during their Staff Induction session of the requirements.
A brief overview of the courses are:
UNE Staff Code of Conduct
This course is designed to improve the understanding of legal and ethical issues at work, particularly among new employees. The course covers the UNE code of conduct, and concludes with a multiple-choice quiz.
UNE Privacy Policy
This course is designed to improve the understanding of privacy issues at UNE, particularly among new employees. The course covers the UNE privacy statement, and concludes with a multiple-choice quiz.
EEO Online
This component is mainatined by the Employment Equity & Diversity unit and full details can be found HERE
National Code
The Natitional Code is mandatory for all staff and is maintained by the English Language and International Services unit and full details can be found HERE
Occupational Health and Safety for UNE Employees
New staff must be given a full induction into the general risks of the University as a workplace, and the particular hazards of their own work area. This short course covers the general risks of University work and concludes with a multiple choice quiz.
NOTE: In addition to this course, supervisors must ensure that new staff receive a workplace-specific OHS induction.
If you are a Manager or Supervisor you must also complete the Occupational Health and Safety Course for Managers.
