College Life

Mary White College provides a living and learning environment for students of the University of New England where the individuality and aspirations of each resident is respected. This environment encourages academic excellence and commitment to the College community, while at the same time offering opportunities to extend one’s talents and interests through social, cultural, sporting and community service activities.

The College attracts a good mix of undergraduate and postgraduate students, including school leavers, mature age and international students. This interesting mix of residents attracts students who are serious about their studies, but who wish to take advantage of the opportunities that living in such a diverse community provides. Residents have the chance to forge friendships with people from a diverse range of cultures and life experiences, many of which become life-long.

The College has an active social program that includes a series of formal dinners, each with a specific theme or focus.

College residents are encouraged to develop a sensible balance in the lifestyle by participating in a range of sporting, cultural and community activities that are organized by the College student leadership team ( Resident Common Room Committee - RCRC)
