Information for Participants

Research Project: Library Survey

I wish to invite you to participate in the 2011 Library Survey. The details of the study follow and I hope you will consider being involved. We value your opinions on the library services and will use your comments to plan improvements. The results of the 2009 survey and our responses to your comments are on our Library survey web page.

Aim of the Study:

We want to know how you feel about our services and resources. We want your feedback on our services and resources so that we can make improvements.

Time Requirements:

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. You can withdraw from the survey at any time and simply close the browser to delete your comments.

The Survey

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and will be on the web until 14th October 2011. No personal data about you is collected and we cannot identify you from your answers. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

Participation is completely voluntary. If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw your consent from the project and discontinue at any time without having to give a reason and without consequence if you decide not to participate or withdraw at any time.

The data will be safely managed by the InSync company and retained for five (5) years following collection and then destroyed. No-one at UNE will have access to the data.

Win an iPad

At the completion of the survey, you will be invited to enter a draw to win an iPad 2. Name and contact details collected for this draw will not be connected with your answers to the survey. The draw is open to current students of the University only.

Research Process:

It is expected that the survey will be available from September 12th to October 7th 2011 and the analysis will be presented in a report by December 2011. The results will be made available on the Library web site with responses from the Library.

This project has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the University of New England (Approval No. HE11/172 Valid to 12/09/2012)
