New England Collection

The New England Collection exists to ensure the preservation of works related to the New England region, including works published by academics at UNE. It contains hundreds of rare and sometimes unique items, ranging from theses to pamplets and other ephemera. The New England Collection holdings are included in the online catalogue, and some items are also available for loan from the General Collection.

Accessing the Collection

Researchers may request retrieval of individual items from the above collections in advance using the Special Collection Retrieval Request form. Items requested by 2.00 PM are available for use at the Service Desk by 3.00 PM on the same day, including weekends and Public Holidays.

Applications for direct access to study in the Collection Room on the Ground Floor of Dixson Library should be made by completing the Application to Use a Special Collection form and then mailing the completed form to the Curator of the Collection, Crystal Plowman.

Individuals may copy supplied items from the Collection for their own use in accordance with the provisions of the Copyright Act.
