Access to the Family History Collection
The UNE Heritage Centre provides a valuable local resource for family historians and researchers. For further information on opening hours and access, see the Heritage Centre site.
Available in the Family History Collection is a useful publication titled Sources for Family History Research in the Dixson Library. This booklet provides a summary of the resources in the Collection (which was previously housed in Dixson Library).

Family history researchers will also find the Pioneers Index CD-ROMs of interest. These contain records of births, deaths and marriages for each state before 1945. There are five CD-ROMs from this set:
- NSW Pioneers Index 1788–1888.
- NSW Pioneers Index 1889–1918.
- NSW Pioneers Index 1919–1945.
- Tasmania Pioneers Index 1803–1899.

These CD-ROMs are held with the rest of the Family History Collection. UNERA staff will assist you in their use.
