Eligibility
Please check the following PDF to see if you are eligible for inter library loan services.
Registration
New users must register when submitting their first request. This allows us to have contact details on file and meet our obligations under the Copyright Act. Please register here.
How to make a request
Requests can be submitted via two online forms.
- Books: (Used to order books and other items on inter library loan)
- Journal articles and book chapters: (Used by eligible students to request a photocopy of material held elseware)
Please supply as much information as possible to ensure a prompt and efficient service. If you are experiencing difficulties please email the Document Services Unit.
Turnaround time
When processing your requests, Library staff will select the fastest and most reliable supplier. In some cases it may be necessary to try several suppliers. Your material will typically arrive in 8-10 working days, subject to availability.
Requests sourced from overseas may take longer. If you would like to check the progress of your request, please contact Document Services Unit on (02) 6773 3473, or email offcamp@une.edu.au.
Charges
Please check the following PDF for inter library loan charges. All student requests are GST-free.
Payment options include:
- credit card (Mastercard and VISA only)
- charging the cost to a UNE account number
- invoicing: please note that there is an additional cost of $5.50 (GST inclusive) for an invoice
Some schools set aside funds to support student use of inter library loan facilities. Please check with your supervisor in relation to the availability of such financial support.
Overseas requests
If your request must be obtained from an overseas library, the charges are increased to $36 per book request.
Rush requests
Rush requests are placed with a supplier within two hours of receipt by the Document Services Unit. Photocopies ordered using this service will usually be supplied within 24 hours, and 48 hours for books. Please see the following PDF for standard rush request charges.
Please indicate clearly on your request that you wish to make your request a 'rush request', or telephone the Document Services Unit on (02) 6773 3473. The Library staff will inform you if the item you require is not available at this service level.
