Overdue Fines
What happens if I am late returning and item?
- Overdue general collection items = $1.00 a day
- Overdue recalled items = $2.00 a day
- Overdue open reserve collection items = 50c per hour
Billing letters are issued for long overdue material (material that is 42 days overdue) and the replacement cost for such items is $100.00 per item. The charge has two components: a $90.00 charge and a $10.00 processing fee. These charges become part of the accumulated fines total. On the return of the long overdue item, the $90.00 charge is automatically removed from the fines record. The $10.00 processing fee per item remains.
Blocked Privileges
If your accumulated fines reach their maximum, borrowing privileges will be withdrawn untill all fines are paid.
- Students will be blocked if fines reach $20.00 (local) or $200.00 (external)
