Renewing a loan
What is a renewal?
A renewal is an extension of your original loan period. A loan cannot be renewed if you have already renewed the item the maximum number of times, another borrower is waiting for the item, or you are blocked from borrowing.
If you are not able to renew a loan for any reason, it must be returned to the Library by the due date, or fines will accrue.
What is my password?
If you are a new student at UNE, your birth date is your default password. The format is ddmmyy, ie if you were born on the 21 March 1961, your password is 210361. This is a different password to one you use for access to UNE Online units.

Renewing your current loans
To view your borrowing record and/or renew an item:Go the Library home page.
Click on the link renew items.
In the ID Number box, type the number on your UNE card. The ID number is a ten digit number starting with a "2" and ending with your student number. Drop the "T" printed in front of your number.
In the Password box, type in your password. This is not your standard UNE password. Try your birth date as your password. If you are a new student in Second Semester 2002 or later, your default password is your date of birth. The format is ddmmyy, ie if you were born on the 21 March 1961, your password would be 210361. If this does not work, apply during office hours at the Loans Desk at the University Library for a password.
Click on the Submit button.
To renew items, click on the Select for Renewal check box on the right of each item. If there is no box, the item cannot be renewed.
Click on Renew at the bottom of the screen.
The next screen shows the new due dates for the renewed items.
- Click on the Logout link when you are finished. This will ensure that others do not access your borrowing record.
