The National Borrowing Scheme

Students and staff at institutions forming part of Universities Australia are able to apply for borrowing privileges at the University Library (including the Law Library). There is no charge.

Please note that borrowing services are in-person only and do not include access to the range of electronic resources available to UNE staff and students.

Students and staff from other institutions must return materials borrowed from UNE by the due date and pay fines and charges resulting from lost, damaged or late return of material.

Making an application

The application form is available online in PDF format.

Please complete this form and submit it in-person to the Service Desk in Dixson Library. You will need to bring:

  • photo ID (university ID card or driver’s licence)
  • proof of current enrolment
  • a recent colour passport photograph.

Please note that scanned photographs will not be accepted.

Your application will be processed and UNE ID card posted to you in about two weeks.

NBS membership runs from the time of application through to 28 February of the following year, unless it is cancelled by the UNE University Library.
