Why use the Reserve Collection?

The Reserve Collection is one means by which Library staff and academics can work together to meet established standards for library support. One copy of all library items described in teaching materials as recommended or further reading should be placed in the Reserve Collection. This is the most efficient method of providing students with constant access to high demand material.

How to place material in the Reserve Collection

Material held in the University Library can be placed in Reserve Collection by emailing a list of items to Allison Hall or libloans@une.edu.au or you can leave material at the Dixson Library Service Desk. For law materials, see Judy Stott in the Law Library or email a list to lawlib@une.edu.au.

External students

One of the purposes of Reserve Collection is to ensure that material is available for students during Residential Schools.

External students are able to request photocopies of Reserve Collection material from home. They are not able to borrow books from the Reserve Collection, so it is often advisable to direct students to a particular chapter. Individual chapters can be photocopied by Library staff and sent to students.
