Key databases

The databases listed below (in alphabetical order) contain thousands of journal articles that are relevant to your assignments.  You can do keyword searches to find information that can be quoted in your essays.

Use Austage and AustLit for Australian material.  JSTOR gives reliable access to full text articles, MLA Bibliography in the Gale databases is the standard guide to literary criticism of world authors.

Indexes published and unpublished material on arts and entertainment management.

AusStage Australian flag
AusStage gives details of performing arts events in Australia, including plays, music, theatre and dance.

AustLit Australian flag Selected Full Text
AustLit indexes materials on Australian literature.

Digital Theatre Plus
Digital Theatre Plus brings the best of British theatre to classrooms. It includes online videos, interviews and written learning resources. Password required.

JSTOR Full Text
JSTOR contains the full-text journals across the disciplines from archaeology to zoology.

Literature Resource Center Full Text
The Center includes author bibliographies, literary criticism and reviews of the works of more than 130,000 writers.

Literature Resources from Gale Full Text
Literature Resources includes full-text articles, overviews, author biographies and criticism. In addition, Literature Resources incorporates the MLA International Bibliography.

NewsBank Full Text Australian flag
NewsBank has the full-text of more than 100 newspapers from Australia and overseas.

MLA
MLA is the standard guide to literary criticism of world authors. It also includes coverage of folklore and linguistics.

ProQuest Full Text
ProQuest includes academic and non-academic content in a wide range of fields, from arts, literature, and social science to business, science, technology, and medicine.

TVNews Australian flag
Australian television news, current affairs and selected documentaries from the free-to-air networks. Macintosh users will need to download the free Windows Windows Media Components for QuickTime software to view these programs.

Oxford Reference
Oxford Reference offers a range of dictionaries and encyclopedias listed by subject.

Theatre Studies 

AHDS Performing Arts has online digital collections developed by the Arts & Humanities Data Service (UK) for music, film, television, radio, theatre and dance. The project has not been updated since 2008, although many of the links still work.
Infomine's Visual & Performing Arts developed by librarians to provide links to scholarly internet resources.
McCoy's Guide Internet resources in theatre and performance studies.
Paris Review interview archives published since the 1950s, interviews with literature's major writers
Performing Arts Links including European and international websites for cinema, dance, theatre and reviews.
The Pram Factory, a history of the Australian Performing Group in Melbourne
