Now it’s time to implement your search strategy using the tools appropriate to your topic.

To retrieve the information, you can take these steps:

  • Identify the types of books or articles included in any references you have so that you know where to start looking
  • Locate books, print and full-text online journals and audio-visual items by using library catalogues
  • Find journal articles by searching journal indexes
  • If necessary, request books and journal articles from a distance
  • Use the World Wide Web to obtain material
