EndNote and Vista

Vista and Importing Styles or Filters

Vista will not allow changes to anything in the Program Files part of the hard drive. Given that this is where Endnote and your styles fit, this can be a problem.

What you need to do is:

1. Find your Styles (or Filters) folder and copy it to the Documents area of the hard drive.
2. Then go into Endnote X1, select Edit/Preferences/Folder locations.
3. Change the style folder selected option to the new Styles Folder in your Documents area, and click on OK.

You should now be able to change your output styles as needed.
