The Reserve Collections consist of material in physical and electronic form that has been placed there by academic staff for short term loan or access via Moodle units.
Reserve is situated on Level 2 of Dixson Library, next to the Service Desk and materials relevant to Law are located behind the desk in the Law Library.
Clients can read books in the Reserve area or borrow them for use outside the Library.
Borrowing Reserve items
To borrow material from Reserve, take the item and your ID Card to the staff at the Service Desk. In the Law Library, ask the staff to retrieve items for you.
External students can order copies of book chapters held in Reserve, and make in-person use of the collection during Intensive Schools.
Clients are able to borrow two Reserve items for two hours and after 4.00 PM items can be borrowed overnight. Overnight loans are due back the next day business day at 10.00 AM.
You can book items you require for overnight loans. Bookings can be made in person with Service Desk Staff from opening on the day the item is required. Bookings are for in-person borrowing only. You can pick up booked items between 4.00 PM and 7.00 PM.
The loan period for Rural Medicine students is six (6) items for five (5) days.
Other clients may borrow Medical Reserve items. Borrowing conditions outlined for Reserve apply, including the option for overnight holds.
Reserve and Law Library Reserve material cannot be renewed but can be returned and re-borrowed. Medical Reserve materials cannot be renewed and the same copy cannot be re-borrowed immediately.
Return of Reserve items
During opening hours, all Reserve materials should be returned to staff. After hours, Reserve items can be returned through the return chutes next to the Dixson Library and Law Library doors.
Penalties and Fees
Reserve Collection and Medical Reserve items must be returned by their due time to avoid imposition of penalties and fees.
eReserve items are available via Moodle and eReserve itself.
