Sir William Dixson
Dixson Library is named in honour of Sir William Dixson (1870–1952), a businessman and collector of books, art and Australiana. In 1937–39, Sir William gave a total of £5,000 to assist in establishing a library at the New England University College (NEUC). The portrait of Sir William Dixson on the First Floor of the Library is by the Australian artist Norman St Clair Carter.
