Our Plenary Speaker
Greg Downey is Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at Macquarie University. He is co-founder with Daniel Lende (Notre Dame) of Neuroanthropology.net, and the two are working on a forthcoming volume on the subject, exploring the ways that the nervous system and brain are shaped by cultural influences. His research explores how diverse sports, dance, martial arts and other physical disciplines over long terms shapes sensory perception, motor skills, and the human nervous system.
