A graduate of London University (Westfield College), she lived in Belgium for two and a half years and worked in Bath, UK, before coming to Australia in 1979.

Her doctoral thesis was published in France by Minard: théories et pratique de l'influence dans la vie et lœuvre immoraliste de Gide (Caen:Minard,1997) 355p and her other publications include book chapters and refereed articles in the Bulletin des amis d'André Gide, AUMLA, the Australian Journal of French Studies, Modern Language Review and Stendhal Club.

Research interests

Her main areas of research are André Gide, Annie Ernaux and empirical studies on the aquisition of French language at tertiary level through various modes of delivery.
