Results and Grades

The School of Law’s Moot Court
During a semester you will undertake one or more pieces of assessment. For each piece of assessment you will be given a result for your work. The sum of all your work will be used to calculate your final result in the unit.
At the end of each semester, the unit co-ordinator recommends what your final result should be to the Faculty’s Board of Examiners. It is up to the Board of Examiners to confirm that grade.
Final Grades will be made available to students via MyUNE and by email to your UNE email address. Hard copy advice of grades are no longer sent.
Neither the School of Law nor your unit coordinator can release your final results before they are officially released by the University. Staff are not permitted to give grades over the telephone due to issues of privacy and accuracy.
If you wish to query your final grade for a unit or obtain more detailed information on your performance in an examination or assignment, you should contact your Unit Coordinator directly in the first instance.
For most units you will be given a graded pass. The grades are based on your final marks in the unit as follows:
| Mark | Grade | Result code |
|---|---|---|
| 85 to 100% | High Distinction | HD |
| 75 to 84.5% | Distinction | D |
| 65 to 74.5% | Credit | C |
| 50 to 64.5% | Pass | P |
| < 50% | Fail | N |
| 50%+ | Compulsory Fail-Failed | NC |
