UNE Online

The Really Quick Guide:

  1. Register for your account: https://login.une.edu.au/password/register
  2. Log into myUNE: http://my.une.edu.au
  3. Go to myStudy tab and click on the icon in the UNE Online column next to each unit.
  4. e-Submit your assignments at: http://une.edu.au/esubmission

UNE now delivers the majority of its course material and assignment submission online. It is a requirement of the University that you have access to a computer and internet to complete your studies (you can click here for a list of recommended computer specifications). For a more detailed look at how each of the online systems works you can click the links in the menu on the left of this page. Below you’ll find a brief overview of the systems, and how to access them:

To access myUNE, Blackboard, Sakai, and e-Submission you will need to register for your UNE account. You can do so at:
https://login.une.edu.au/password/register

myUNE

Once you've got your username and password you can access all of UNE's online resources by logging into myUNE: http://my.une.edu.au

myUNE is your one stop shop for everything from enrolment, and updating personal information to accessing Library and IT resources. For now we're just going to focus on the online course materials. You can access these from the myStudy tab:

myStudy

In the table on the main body of the page you will find a list of all of your enrolled units for the semester. Listed in the columns next to each unit name you’ll find a series of clickable icons. These are:

  • Class List (You’ll only see this if you opted to be on the list yourself when you enrolled)
  • E-Moticon (Provide instant feedback on your unit experience)
  • E-Reserve Readings (PDFs of weekly readings, managed by Dixson Library)
  • Information (Course & Unit Catalogue)
  • Materials Dispatch (Hard-copy materials)
  • Past Exams (Copies of past exams for that unit- great for revision!)
  • Unit Materials (online versions of CD-ROM material)
  • UNE Online (Blackboard and Sakai)

On the left-hand side of the myStudy tab you will also find useful links to things such as timetables, textbooks, graduation and results.

UNE currently uses two learning management systems to deliver its online course material: Blackboard and Sakai. Each is subtly different, but both essentially do the same thing. This is how you will access weekly topic notes, lecture slides, lecture audio, online quizzes, discussion boards, online chat- everything you need to do your unit.

In Semester 1, 2010 units will be released to students on Feb 1. After this date you will be able to click on either a Blackboard or Sakai icon within the UNE Online column of each of your units.
