Mac OS Modem Settings
Note: Having completed the Connection Wizard the final step is to ensure the you have UNE's proxy settings in you Web Browser instructions for this procedure can be found by clicking here .
OS 8 - 9
- Open the Control Panels and select Appletalk

- The AppleTalk should be set to Remote Only
- Close and Save the settings,
- Select TCP/IP from the Control Panels

- The TCP/IP should be connect via PPP
- Set the Configure to Using PPP Server
- Enter the Name Server Addresses and the Search Domains as in the screenshot above
- Close and Save the settings
- Select Remote Access from the Control Panels
- Enter your UNE Username and Password , as supplied to you by the Service Desk
- Enter the modem telephone number, which is 67733000

- Select Connect , and your computer will now dial up.

OS X
- Open you System Preferences and select Network
- Under Location, select New

- A box will appear asking you to give the connection a name. We suggest you use something easy like UNE-DialUp , but you can use whatever suits your own tastes.
- Hit OK

- You will now be taken back to the Preferences page. Set Show to Internal Modem .
- Under the TCP/IP tab, select Configure to Using PPP

- Select the PPP tab.
- Enter the details as follows:
- Service Provider: UNE
- Account Name: Your UNE username
- Password: Your UNE modem password
- Telephone Number: 67733000
- Select the Proxies tab

- Check the Web Proxy (HTTP) and the Secure Web Proxy tick boxes.
- Enter proxy.une.edu.au and 8080 for the Port
- Click on Apply Now

To Connect to the Internet
- Open Internet Connect , which will be in either the Dock , or in the Applications folder on your Hard Disk
- Check that your details are correct and hit Connect .
