Hardware Purchases
UNE has entered arrangments with two preferred suppliers - Dell for Windows computers and Apple for Apple computers. Please refer to our purchasing website for information on the ordering process and the standard suite of desktop / laptop computers available to UNE.
Purchases outside of the standard range of hardware will need to be approved by IT prior to placing the order. For non-standard purchases (servers, non-standard desktops or laptops), please obtain a quote and forward this, with a brief explanation of why a non-standard purchase is required to the IT Service Desk (servicedesk@une.edu.au). IT will evaluate the request and either approve the purchase or work with you on alternative solutions. For more information, have a look at our Non-Standard Purchases website.
Hardware Support
The IT Service Desk does not offer hardware repair / warranty services. We can assist you with the diagnosis of computer hardware problems, but unfortunately cannot provide repairs for machines.
For warranty repairs, please call the manufactures' numbers below to organise a service visit or, in the case of Apple, contact the Mac1 store in town to arrange for warranty repairs - details are below.
If you would like to organise a support visit to your desk to assess a problems and/or organise a repair, please contact the IT Service Desk to arrange a visit from our IT Client Services team.
Warranty Support Contacts.
To organise a repair under warranty, contact the numbers below. You might get asked to follow some basic diagnosis steps to confirm that a problem is covered by warranty. If you would like help with this process, please contact the IT Service Desk with details of the problem - our Desktop Support Team (ITCS) can assess the issue for you and contact Dell / Apple on your behalf.
