Mapping To Barney in OSX
1) Open Finder
2) Click on Go in the top menu bar, then Connect to Server
3) In the Server Address field type: smb://barney
4) Click Connect
5) Choose Connect As Registered User
a. Name: your username
b. Password: your UNE domain password
6) Click Connect
7) Choose the folder you would like to connect to
8) Click OK
If there are certain folders on Barney that you connect to regularly, you can set up a list of favourites to help you navigate to them quickly. To do so:
1) Open Finder
2) Click on Go in the top menu bar, then Connect to Server
3) Type the address you need in the Server Address field and hit the + button
4) The address will then appear in the favourites list below
5) To connect to favourites in future simply double-click on the address you want
Some useful favourites might include:
smb://barney/users/yourusername - Your personal storage space on Barney
smb://barney/stafffiles - Most departmental files are stored here
