IRSA and Committees

IRSA now has 22 members, including 10 university student members and 12 associate members. IRSA duties and responsibilities are listed below.

W hat IRSA Does -- Our main IRSA purpose is to provide official voice for Iranian students at UNE through which Iranian students and Iranian community can be expressed. Other purposes include having IRSA as a center of Iranian students in Armidale, sharing experience and fun, and helping other members in any circumstance possible to support their study and to increase quality of life. If any questions arise regarding this issue, please contact the President, Vice President or Secretary.

W hat Committee Does -- Committee members all together will help our IRSA to pursue the goals. The committee members will make our events/tasks successful as possible. Each committee member will have his/her own responsibility, but in fact we all help each other to make things happen.

N ew Students Welcome -- This issue should be discussed before the end of each semester, so we all can help new students with their needs including apartment, school (student ID, department), shopping (where to buy, where to eat), government related issues, and so on.

Committee's Duties and Responsibilities

T he committee consists of

•  President

•  Vice President

•  Secretary

•  Treasurer

•  Public relation

•  Web Master

•  The president is elected from the majority vote of the Iranian Student Association members.

•  The President of the Association shall have the power to set up the committees.

•  Any of the committees can be removed as long as the majority of the committees agree to the action .

President

• Presides over all meetings of the association and serves as chairperson of the executive committee.
• Acts as official representative of the association at other meetings and events.
• Orders and plans Iranian Student Association officer's meetings.
• Finalizes the ending of the written documents and association's homepage, and presents to the public.
• Inspections of other department duties.

Vice President

• Presides at the meeting of the club and the executive committee in the absence of the president.
• Succeed the president if he/she is unable to complete his/her term of office.
• Acts as advisor in educational areas to other Iranian students.
• Contacts the International Student Office for the up-coming activities.
• Provides service and commodities for activities held.

Secretary

• Records and produce minutes of all meetings.
• Handle the organization's correspondence.
• Provides materials needed for officer's meetings.
• Contacts with the other officers in different organizations.
• Be responsible for keeping member's information.

Treasurer

• Handle all financial transactions of the association.
• Maintain through and accurate records of all transactions.
• Produces financial reports as required by the association.

Webmaster

• Updates all the association's activities in the organization's homepage.
• Updates the members' information every semester.
• Presents Iranian cultures and provide the information about Iranianland in the association's homepage.

I n our next general meeting, we will discuss more about the committee duties and responsibilities. If anyone has any other idea, please propose it.
