The International Oral History Association (IOHA) with assistance from the Oral History Association of Australia (OHAA) will hold its biennial international conference in Sydney in July 2006. Based at the University of Technology Sydney, the conference will bring together oral historians from around the world.

The conference theme is Dancing with memory: oral history and its audiences.
Sub-themes include archiving memory, fire and water, memory and community, places and buildings, pleasures of memory, remembering the land, sharing/passing on beliefs, talking to ourselves, teaching and learning.

The Conference languages are English and Spanish.

There will be social gatherings, cultural events and performances as well as papers, panels, workshops and special interest groups.
