Wuxi South Ocean College, China
UNE has strong links with Wuxi South Ocean College (WSOC) in the Jiangsu Province in China, which was cemented in 2005 with a formal Pathway program. Wuxi students undertake 2-2.5 years study at WSOC (including English Language), and then transfer with Advanced Standing into a Bachelor of Business program for their final 1.5-2 years study at UNE in Armidale, Australia.
The Bachelor of Business course at UNE is one of UNE’s most popular awards as students who complete all prescribed units in the Professional Accounting major satisfy the educational requirements for admission to Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA) and the National Institute of Accountants (NIA).
To date more than 150 WSOC students have obtained visas to come to Australia to continue their studies at UNE. Of these students, 77 have graduated already with 59 students still enrolled. 71 new students also commenced the program at WSOC in September 2006.
In addition to the 77 graduates to date, approximately 70 of these students have continued their studies at Masters Degree level at UNE - this opportunity extends a student’s knowledge of business at a postgraduate level as well as enhancing their career prospects

Upon successful completion of the WSOC's Course, Advanced Standing will be granted by UNE for 12 units, the equivalent of 3 semesters of study.
