A common research and teaching interest has developed between the School of Education at UNE and the Faculty of Education and Developmental Studies at the University of Winnipeg (UW) concerning the identification and education of children with high academic potential particularly those coming from a background of disadvantage (low socio-economic or cultural minority status).
UNE has an advanced standing arrangement with UW whereby students who complete 4 specific units with UW in the areas of educaton and developmental studies receive advanced standing for these units (equal to 1 full semester of study) into the Master of Education (Gifted and Talented) at UNE.
